How much power is the L65 supposed to hold up to? I thought I read it's not supposed to be spun over 5700 RPM, maybe that was something else?

I figure I am putting down about 500 rear wheel~ based on my mods. in sig.

I've never seen one article saying it couldn't be spun over 5700....someone talking out of their *** probably said that. Now since this Tranny was built for the 400hp CTS-V and the GTO and the new C6....all with close too or over 400hp....I beleive they said 450 rwhp and rwtq.....500, it'll probably hold for awhile but it'll eventually wear out.....but it's so much better than the L60/4L60E....

Making it Fit
All the improvements made to the 4L60-E to make the 4L65-E are internal, so it will bolt up to any vehicle originally equipped with the 4L60-E.

Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to rebuild my tranny with 65/and or aftermarket internals?

Since they put extra clutches and bigger bands, etc. I'm not sure if the interior of the tranny housing is the same. Don't get me lying to you.....I am not gonna tell ya to do that.
