Default b&m trans pak or transgo

i have a 2000 pontiac trans am ws6 with 77000 miles and have one of each of these kits. the b&m transpak #70365 and a transgo 4l60e-hd2. should i even install one of these and if so which one is better? is there anything to look out for or install in addition to the kit. the car is pretty much stock for now just exhaust and blackwing lid. apparently i need to turn off or down torque management. and info is appreciated since i hope to install one of the 2 this weekend.
thanks

If the unit will be taken down and gone through, then use the HD2 kit. If you only plan to do valvebody work then use the Transgo 4L60E SK kit. It is less expensive and has some of the same mods. The B&M kit works also, just don't block the 1-2 accumulator and use the HD settings for the feed hole size and .093"-.110" for the BR hole. You can also address the TCC valve by using a heavier spring.

I offer a modified version of the TransGo HD2 that will match what you have done to the motor, torque converter diameter, torque converter stall, rear end gear ratio, how you drive, etc. The kit has three new accumulators, Sonnax pinless forward accumulator, hardened pin and modified piston for the 2nd accumulator, oem piston and pin for the 4th accumulator, D-ring seals to replace the teflon seals for the Corvette servo, Torlon checkballs, EPC solenoid filter, new pre-driller separator plate if needed, and more. If the transmission has slipping on the 1-2 and or the 2-3 shift, the Shift kit cannot fix this as the 3-4 clutches and or the 2-4 band are going away. The Shift kit can quicken the shifts when setup correctly. You can always reuse the kit when you rebuild the transmission in the future. If you already have the Shift kit, let me know and I can help you out on what changes you can do here.

Yes i already have the kit and I thought the trans was slipping but it was just missing because of bad gas i guess.

The Transgo 4L60E SK kit can be easily turned into a performance kit and cost about $38. Add a $20 .500" boost valve and now your $58. The HD2 kit runs for about $95-$110 so, if you don't use the entire kit (which does require removal of transmission for input and reverse drum modifications) you're left with about $50 worth in parts and upgrades you are not going to use. I would recommend you use that money for a new filter or some ATF.

If you choose not to have the "will hold first gear to any rpm" feature, then the TransGo SK4L60E Shift kit with the .500" boost valve along with separator plate feed hole size modifications, accumulator pistons and seals and Corvette servo (if needed) can be used. You still will need cover, guide, servos seals, separator plate gaskets and EPC solenoid filter, etc. I use this kit as a base for my Heavy Duty 4L60E transmission rebuild kits.
