Default solid motor mounts, trans removal

Whats the easiest way to get the trans out with solid motor mounts? Should i just drop the whole k-member or will there still be enough room to get to the top bolts?

just loosen the k member bolts and let it hang at a small enough angle to get to the top bolts. its not too hard to do

I just put a jack under the motor and undo the bolts on the motor mounts that attach to the kmember and they will swivel up the kmember. The motor will drop down to the kmember. It can be done without dropping the kmember. It is a pain though.

ive got these same engine mounts, when i put a clutch in my trans am..i put a jack under my k member, loosened all the bolts, primarly the rears, and left the fronts threaded in some. then lower your jack/k member assembly a couple inches..so much easier than dicking around with the engine mount bolts.
