Okay guys so I've got a 91 camaro swapping a lsx motor in. I was given a 5.3l for free took it apart and put all new ls1 stuff in blah blah. Anyway i picked up a 96 trans out of a caprice and checks out as being one but converter wont bolt up to flywheel?? Im using the 5.3 flywheel with 3 holes, hughes spacer for 4l60e. The bolts holes line up but torque converter converter side holes are spaced inward. Like converter is to small in diameter?? Anybody have any ideas? Im stumped...

you probably need a dual pattern flexplate

I thought i saw before (which now i cant find) that the 5.3 flywheel is only one that will bolt up directly to older transmissions. Its super close like almost less then 1/8th inch but just off far enough that arp nolts wont go through

I have seen that yes some have to enlongate the holes in the flex plate slightly to accomdate this.

Okay thanks i will just widen holes a bit today and see if that works! By the way when i get the money I am coming to you guys for a trans!!
