Default 4L80e slight takeoff weirdness

Trying to sort through a minor issue with my 80 - when I take off from a stop, it feels like it is still in second but immediately downshifts to first. Other than that, the trans is fine - runs through the gears - no issues. So far I've adjusted the shift cable and manual position switch thing (PRNDL switch) with no change. I've also started tinkering with HP Tuner trying to raise my idle line pressure, but need to more research on the force motor settings. It's not a show stopper, but it's not "right", and I don't want to find out I'm doing damage to the trans.

This is in a Trailblazer - everything in the drivetrain is new. My next thought was to put a line pressure gauge on it and then pull the pan to physically inspect stuff. Just don't think I should have to as it's a brand new 80.

Thoughts??

Put a pressure gauge on it. I've seen this before when you have really low baseline pressure from a worn pump. A worn AFL can affect it too.
