Default 100% street driven with TC come inside please.

I understand that the stock Torque Converter is a 1600 stall, and 1.6 STR. Some things I have noticed about it are the following: The car will move on LEVEL surface at 650 idle in gear. I can only hold the brake and rev the motor to about 1100 before breaking the rear tires loose.

So what I am wondering is that if I get an after market converter, I'm looking at a 3000, 2.0 str on street tires(pirellie Pzeros, very sticky).
Will the car still move on LEVEL ground at idle?
If NO, what RPM will it start to move at?
I'm asking because of parking lot situations and other SLOW moving situations.

What RPM will I be able to rev it to before the rear tires break loose?

Currently at 65MPH, I am at 2200 RPM, will that change since the stall speed in 3000RPM?

I understand that I will have to compromise some with a higher STALL TC but I just want to be prepared.

thanks.

TCI Streetfighter 3000, 2.2 STR

Will creep on level ground at stock idle but very slowly.

Will not creep uphill (driveway, not huge grade) at idle but
will hold position. Maybe 700-800RPM to creep uphill.

Can rev up to about 2500-2700 holding the footbrake.

Will break loose from roll anywhere in 1st pretty much on 3.23s

Cruise RPM unaffected (lockup)

TCC clutch is a bit weak, for towing or hardcore performance
where you'd want to put high power across the lockup clutch
you probably would need a multidisc or higher performance TCC.

Jimmy described it just perfectly. Also, while cruising slow the RPMs are going to be a bit higher. Cruising over 35-40 will be no problem because the converter will lock up and be just like your stock converter in 4th gear.

I have a Vig 3200 2.5 str with the same mods as your sig and it's perfect. As the others described on take off and idle creep. Also worth mention is the flash from an idle while standing still will make you smile every time. Plus passing is improved because instead of the rpms creeping as the mph increases, the tach jumps to 3800 and pulls the mph up with torque!
Last is when cruising at say 70 mph, it's locked up and the rpms are low - you let off the gas because a car is in front of you or something. With a stock t/c the car decelarates with the trans holding back. With the stall t/c the tach just drops and the car floats smooth. You use the brakes or downshift to slow down! It feels great and so smooth going through the gears at part throttle too. No harsh shifting - just a few hundred rpm drop of the tach and you keep moving.
I don't see anything about a street/strip converter as a "compromise" - it's ALL AN IMPROVMENT

Thanks for all the info.
I was thinking that the car would NOT move until about 2200 RPM.
Now I know it will barely creep on level ground.

My car moves at idle, just like when it was stock. I have a YANK 3200 with a 2.8 STR. It hits hard, has great shift extension, but when you are not on it, you don't even know it is there.
