Default 4l60e pump

How strong is the stock 4l60e pump or what makes them prone to breaking

The pump "rings" on older units were prone to breakage. I think that GM improved them over time.
Transgo makes a $15 kit that includes extra-hard rings and a high-rpm spring.
GM also went from a 10-vane to a 13-vane rotor to reduce pulsing of the line pressure; it has nothing to do with strength.
A possible "failure" is a rough installation of the torque converter which damages/cracks the rotor and causes it to fail in the future. I understand that a billet pump rotor is available.

Thank-you for your advice so from what I have gathered a new stock pump should do fine in addition the Trans go parts will make it a bit stronger
