Street driving a rmvb auto I just picked up a TCI Super Street Fighter TH400 and the matching 3500 stall converter for an outstanding price. This setup is reverse manual valve body.
This is going on a turbo 5.3 Chevelle. Not a racecar, more like a weekend play car. In other words when I drive it I am not really using it to go places, I'm using it to just go. Are many of you guys driving around town on rmvb transmissions? What is it like? I read other posts explaining the lack of engine braking. Does everyone come to red light in 3rd and then downshift it once stopped, or do you actually drive it like a manual? It is my understanding it is going to freewheel and offer no braking. Can you guys clarify please. Also,any suggestions on shifters? My old B&m is sloppy and I have been looking at the 1/4 stick and the TCI Outlaw.

There is no engine braking so you just need to use common sense. I do not suggest downshifting when slowing down for a light i usually come to a stop, but depending on what speed your at when you accelerate you can figure out if you need to downshift or not.I have a quarter stick with a rmvb in my 400 and i love it.
