Default need to upgrade trans cooler

hey guys i have a jake's lvl 2 4l80e swapped into my 02 ss.
i have a b&m 70264 cooler, i've done some new things to car i.e. removed ac and condenser,installed a trans temp gauge i believe they installed it into the line coming from trans going into trans cooler and said it got up to 230ish is this normal or high if so need ideals on what i can do to get it cooler cars now making 650+rwhp and 600+ trq with a 3600 stall.

I wouldn't run a temp gauge into the lines, get it put in the pan and it'll get you a more accurate reading. 230 is pretty high, I wouldn't want to see that.

why not run it from the return line? if anyone has done the same with the line that comes from the trans to cooler what temps are you seeing..

One of my buddies is running his trans temp sender in the return line. He has a 5400 sprague less 8" converter with th400 and 4.71 gear and sees 180ish cruising at 60 and right at 200 after a 1/4 mile pass.

im running the b&m 70264 was told it got up to 230 running on the streets maybe ill just add a fan on it see if that helps. im getting car back in 2 days.

He's using a b&m70274 cooler mounted on the radiator(no ac in the car).Im running the same cooler on my car with a 4000 stall.

ok so here it is, trans cooler was running 210-240 at the track getting hot right after a pass let it cool etc. but loved driving locked up on Interstate. air temp was down to 78* from 84-86*on ride home temp was right at 170* so just run a fan on it for the track or get a bigger cooler? if bigger what size would be good enough and still fit in front of radiator.
