V6 4L60E on a LS1?
V6 4L60E on a LS1? So buying an LS1 fbody with a bad 4L60E. I see them for decent prices all over, some are LT1 4L60E's, some are 3.4 or 3.8L versions and of course then there are the LS1 versions. My question is, if I got any of the other 3 would they still work or should I just look for strictly a LS1 version? I would think only the bellhousing would matter if the connections are there.

no in shoirt all the trannys are different in one small way or another and its easier and cheaper to just buy one made for an ls. you can also use a 4l60e from a 99-up truck or van just as long as its a v8

It has a picture of the trans you want - a '98 or later with a bolt hole in the 12 o"clock position which indicates it has the LS compatible 300mm input shaft.
