Default air checking 4l80e direct clutch and center support assembly

the ATSG manual says air check this assembly but not which passage. I'm getting piston travel when applying air to the center support bolt hole but not when applying air to the ports to the left and right of it. Is this correct?
thanks.

The center hole, with the bolt, is for the intermediate clutch. With the direct drum on the support, hold your finger over one of the outer holes while blowing in the other one.You will see the direct clutch appy. One hole is the inner piston area and the other is the outer piston area.

thanks DDD! I'm surprised the manual doesn't specify that. Just says see fig 74 without anything further.

Perfect advice. Plug the right hole and blow into the left, ensure you you have pressure plate and snap ring in place when you air check. Same with the center support piston to apply the intermediates. If there's nothing to stop the piston travel, the piston can over travel and blow a seal and you wouldn't even know
