I run an FTI, stalls about 3500 with a 2.35 STR, I have 2.73 gears and it isn't very loose.

I am going to go with something like a 3400 stall with the stock 3.23 gear for now. My last car I had a 3200 stall with 3.42 gears, and it was a good dd. That's what I am looking for right now.

Have you decided on brand yet? FTI, Circle-D, and PTC for example will do more custom oriented builds. I went with FTI. I told Greg what I wanted out of the converter and he spec'ed it out for me. I could DD my 3500 w/ 2.73 gears if I wanted to, it isn't very loose at all. Model is SRLS3391, can't hurt to ask him.

4000
3.70
28'' tires

if you worried about mileage or fuel prices....keep the 323. if you want a little edge go 3.70 ---3.42 would not really be worth the swap.

I didn't feel much difference with my 3.73s over my 3.23s.

He'll when my ten bolt broke and I had to put in a bandaid 2.73 car I didn't notice much difference except for longer gearing on WOT pulls.

If you are running street tires and breaking 1st gear loose through most of it, you do not need any more gear.

I have a 2.59 Gear with a procharger and I spin through all of 1st and into 2nd. I was going to step up my gear, but I would have just spun through more of 2nd gear, so what is the point unless you are going to run drag slicks and at that point you will start grenading stock differentials with any kind of power.

For what its worth, the 2.59 on the highway is deadly. with 3200 Stall, highway gear, at 70MPH you slam on it, does a 4-2 downshift, the converter spools to 4K and the procharger spools into boost and it launches hard enough to out accelerate sport bikes.

A 3.07 or 3.23 with a stall is very nice passing gear from any kind of roll and actually helps you shift 4-2 instead of 4-3 to get that extra surge.

No have not decided yet. My last stall was A Yank. I was going to give those 3 you named a call in a few days. Also the tire size in the rear are 295/35/18.

I had 2.73's for a long time in my old z28. It ran a best of 12.30 @ 111 mph with those gears and SS3600. I switched over to 3.23's and noticed little difference. I had 255 50 16 tires. It wasn't bad for daily driving, it was a little on the loose side when taking off, but when on the freeway with it locked up, it was like stock.

I went from 2.73's to 3.42's with a 3600 Vig. I'm happy with the setup and will probably stay with the 3.42's.

I have an edge 3600 on my bolt on ls1.The converter along with Dr's are by far the best mod you can do to these cars. I was somewhat worried about the stall being too big but it seems fairly efficient. Yes Gas mileage will suffer a little bit. However, i cant tell a huge difference between our stock a4 z28 with 2.73 and my bolt on stalled formula as far as mpg go. Yes it is worse but it is way more fun! Below is the link to my youtube account so you can see how well my setup has worked for me.. If i was you i would put the damn thing in and go for it! just make sure you have a good tuner.
