Had a question, How hard would it be to change the range select shaft on a 2004 4L60e from a long one like this

To a short one like found on 700r4 and older 4L60e w/o the mounted safety neutral switch

is this something that's easy to get to by dropping the pan? I didn't know how involved this would be?

And anyone have any idea where I can get a short range select shaft online to make this swap?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can do this by simply dropping the pan. You need to remove the U shaped spring clip near the rooster comb and then back off the nut to remove the shaft from the case.

Check at the gm parts dealer. Im sure by the time you get it from EBAY you would have as much invested as oem part.
