its def true that lots of settings need to be changed in the computer like the PWM which i have turned off so its either full on or full off and it helped noticeably but not 100%. also increased force motor current which helped too but too much and the shifts were too firm so i had to find a sweet spot.

Ive just heard that the clutches they use in the vigilante converters hold a lot better than the yanks. still not necessarily recommended to do wot pulls but they can handle a lot more with less line pressure.

It does if it's inefficient.

It will effect how fast it gets there.. A yank isn't going to top out at 160mph and a tci at 135.

I have a Yank SS3600.
I can accelerate crisply from a stop light with shifts around 2700 (well below stall speed). 500HP, 4L60E, 3.42 rear, 26" tires.
Any vids? Would like to see how it moves under light throttle with those gears.

I have a precision industries 3800 converter on my dakota r/t and that will stay locked up even at WOT and thats with 350rwhp and 350ft-lbs. I would seriously recommend precision industries vigilante converters over yank any day of the week as the yank lockup clutches are very well known to be weak. I would never buy another yank converter.
I wonder if the clutch is different in the PT series? I have a 4000 and the look up works flawlessly ant any % of throttle driving or on the dyno. It drives pretty loose though. I knew that buying, but haven't see the MPH I was expecting out of it. I gave up some on the launch hoping to pickup in the top end and also make the car more consistent. It is deadly consistent, but since I don't race as much any more I think I would rather have a tighter driving harder hitting converter. I actually just spoke with Chris at Circle D and will be sending my coverter to them to restall. Going with the 5C and hoping for low 1.5x 60'.

yep the PT series is definitely higher end and comes with a better clutch. the ss series is the most popular yank but also the lowest on the ladder.

The "lowest on the ladder" are the Stealth Thruster 11" non-billet converters.
