Converter bolts.. how to remove them in the car?
Converter bolts.. how to remove them in the car? Im taking my motor out the top and leaving the trans in. I found the access plug in the bottom but i dont see how to remove the bolts. Ive only messed with old school stuff so im a little lost id like to unbolt the converter before pulling the motor.. any info will help!

I use a 1/2" Battery powered impact wrench with a 15mm swivel socket.
This way the flexplate doesn't move when I torque the bolts.
(Or have a helper with a 24mm socket and large wrench on the crank bolt.)
Also I already have at least half of the spark plugs removed before I remove the header. This makes it much easier to turn the crank.
If you have to install washers with the converter, you will have to turn the crank at least two revolutions. First install the bolts fairly loose so that you can fit a washer for the next bolt, but not so loose that it hits/binds on the engine block.

remove the starter and black dust cover/access panel around the starter. Like said above have a buddy turn the crank bolt... or if on your own Like I usually am, turn the flexplate using a flat head screw driver- jus be careful not to jack up the teeth on the plate
