Default VIG 4000 Dynoed--->NOT PRETTY!!!!

Well NoGo tuned my car for me yesterday and we saw an 11% loss from locked to unlocked numbers.

IMO this is not very good.I do have a LU switch but I beleive I would still gain ET/MPH w/a Yank or TCI conveter.

Mike@Yank is redoing a TP4400 for me in about 3 weeks that I have sitting on the shelf at my shop.Its my old TP4200 that I rebought from Kenny for a good deal

Thanks Mike.....

I'm going to test out the VIG 1st w/a LU switch and then change over to the Yank.I think it'll pick up both MPH/ET with the Yank but we'll see the final results.

Here is the loss amount from the VIG----->34RWHP

I can hear it now..."You know, this Yank I installed just a few months ago does perform flawlessly, but I think I'm going to try out one of those new Multi-disk Vigs for some damn good reason still unbeknownst even to me. Yeah, I bet it'll perform almost as well as the Yank! And besides, I got a good deal on it."

I have a multi-disc VIG 3600 and only lost 15rwhp on the dyno locked vs. unlocked and was mph'ing high 118s untuned with mods in sig. My buddy could only mph 117 with PP5.3,TR230 and PT4400 and all boltons tuned. I made 413rwhp locked so Im stoked. Also his PT4400 blew up. Both cars are tuned at the same place MTI.

Is this the Yank that blew up that you're talking about?

There was also the idea of Yanks being generally harder on trannies than the Vigs as well but that just might be talk.

There you go just run it. Mine 60' 1.54 cam only and Iam looking for low 1.5s and high 1.4s with the heads and new cam, if the track will hold it. Good luck!

I have had a vig in the past with no problems but I just had a vig multidisc and it had a problem . Sent it in to have it fixed and they screwed me over on the repair so you have to be carefull they are on the shaddy side themselves.
Plus when i asked about changing shift extension he had no idea what that was really made me nervous. He told me so shift higher as if shifting at 6800 and having it drop to 5200 wasnt high enough on a 4000 converter. I was like thats some great tech there . He also asked me why i had a multidisc and said he doesnt like the multidisc for na cars because they dont work well for ls1`s. I was like huh? why do you try to upgrade everyone when they send theres in for a free restall? Its a stupid story but i got hit for $$+ and the converter still is under warr.
Anyway enough of my rant. Im just pissed so i sold the converter promising myself never to do business with them again.
