I'm building a 87 RCSB S-10 and need to know what 3 speed to use. I'm shooting to make this a NHRA legal 9.90 super gas bracket racer.

Hoping to stay around 3000 lbs race weight, and motor should be capable of over 600 at the wheels. Not concerned about the "extra" HP is takes to spin a 400. T-brake is a definite. Looking for consistency and durability. I know that 350's can be built to handle 1000 HP, but at what expense? What am I looking at for necessary parts? Most likely will be using a CSR shield.

 

I've went through three "700rwhp rated" TB th350s with my 450rwhp car, and didn't even make it to the track..that was just playing around on the street. To do it over I'd go th400 from the start.

 

T400 , no reason to consider a t350 unless there are length restrictions or a S/SS application.

 

Th350 is a consumable part in any performance application. Replace every race season or more often as needed, seriously.
