4l60E shifting questions
4l60E shifting questions Just curious. Sometimes I use to pull the car out of drive to the lower drive to guarentee the car would downshift into the lowest gear while rolling. I would then throw it into the higher drive before the car would shift gears on it's own.
But, if I start in 1, shift to 2... do the same into the lower drive is that 3rd?
If I do that once it's in 3rd can I shift it into the higher drive so the car will shift 4th on its own?
2002 a4 trans go hd2, fti3000 stall, everything is fresh and stronger on the inside. I never down shift the car, but my converter is crazy tight for my n20 cam and you need to be at the perfect mph or else it wont down shift. So sometimes I'll come to a complete stop and put in in 1st and do the above I don't want to put it in the lower drive to grab 3rd and then just put it into higher drive and have it shift 4th early.
