The diffrence 4l80 and 4l80e
As tilte states i would like to know the diffrence between them. Right now my vehicle is getting a 4l80e swap so what does the "e" stand for?

There were some 90s vehicles that were not electronic.
im hunting down info to use one in my car. Not lookin to use an e transmission.
Hard part is the builders ive contacted kerp trying to sell me the electronic ones.
Im pretty sure there profit margins are higher with the 80es.but just not what im looking for.

The TH400 was referred to as the 3L80. The "4" in 4L80E means it has four forward gears. The "L" means it's longitudinally mounted (rear wheel drive), the "80" is GM's own numerical representation of a torque rating and the "E" means it's electronically controlled.
