I found a Turbo 400 local that I'd like to use, but if I'm not mistaken, don't all 90deg chevy engines use the same bellhousing?
I'd like to run this behind a 5.3 (with crank spacer of course)
It was originally behind a 70s 250I6 in a full size truck

wierd, i have never seen a 400 behind a six, doesnt mean they didnt do it, i fig maybe a 292 6 cyl maybe, not a 250, but i guess in keeping with the heavy duty theme maybe thats what they did
is it a short tail housing 400-either way it should work fine-there is some diff in the bell housing area, but i think more from the process (mold) it was poured into when it was made
