93' Wont shift

93' Wont shift So I just bought a 93' Z28 yesterday. I had test drove it on Friday and the car ran perfect, shifted good everytime. I go to pick it up yesterday, pay for it and what not, go to leave and the car wont shift now. Called the dude up, he said get it up to about 25-3k rpms and toss it in neutral then back into drive and itll shift (this did work). I was 3hrs away from home and wasnt risking driving it and messing more stuff up. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Sorry to bump this, but I tinkering around the other night and pulled the dipstick again to check it. Cars been sitting for a few days not ran, and the trans fluid level is right above the where it should be when hot line. Can an overilled tranny cause it to not shift properly? I have a couple gallons laying around and was thinking about dropping the pan and swapping out filters and adding new fluid to where it should be. Would this maybe help?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - but are you checking the fluid level with the engine running as you should? With the engine off the fluid level will be about 1" about the hot line, but be inaccurate.
BTW - Pricesgarage is pro trans rebuilder; I would take his advice seriously.
