auto trans heeeelp
A good trans shop will put the wheels up, connect a pressure gauge and a scanner and run the car through all gears and test that the computer can control the pressure in the trans. If that test succeeds then the computer and wiring have to be OK.
Where are you in IL?
I'm not saying the shop gave you BS, but not testing it with a scanner and pressure gauge indicates you might want to go somewhere else.
Sponsor and top-of-the-line trans builder Finish Line Transmission (FLT) is in Wood Dale, IL, 35 miles from you. However owner Chuck told me yesterday he has a 3+ week backlog right now. Still if you can wait that long and want an excellent rebuild that is the place to go.
Actually I'm confused by your 1st post. Is your trans working or not? Is the 3-4 clutch still smoked or is the shop trying to overcharge you after fixing it.?
Even if the shorted wiring commanded the trans to minimum line pressure, the 3-4 clutch should not burn out in 2 miles unless you were WOT the entire time.
So, are they trying to turn you down for a warranty rebuild?
