What PCM to control 4l80e without LS engine at this time

I have been searching all around for information on controlling the 4l80e and have found a few options. Read more below before suggesting TCI or PCS etc
Current setup - 1955 Chevy Pickup, Running 1969 427 BBC with TH400, would like to switch to 4l80e for OD. My future plan is to pull the 427 (to put in 1969 Camaro currently work in progress) and replace with LQ4 with L92 heads. (Not set in stone)
Questions:
Can a T42 control a 4l80e without an ECM? Can it be done by adding TPS and VSS? Can it be tuned with HP Tuners?
Can I control a 4l80e with a PCM without the engine? Thinking for the future, can I put a PCM in now to control tranny and then have it run the future engine?
FYI - I am an engineer, so I have the technical and electrical skills/knowledge, just don't have a ton of information/experience with LS engines. Mostly Big Block all mechanical

This year old thread might point you in the right direction:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ontroller.html
It mentions the T42, but I personally don't know it.
I seriously doubt a normal PCM could be made to control a trans without the engine. The trans software depends on numerous engine sensors, much more than just speed, rpm and throttle position.
If you are an electronics engineer, there is an open-source trans controller project with various "kits" available:
http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/index.html
BTW - Even if you have no interest in building your own trans controller, this site has 4L60E/4L80E information, especially electrical and wiring diagrams, that I have not seen anywhere else.
