4l60e 3-4 accumulator pin missing?
I am rebuilding my 4l60e and I came across my 3-4 accumulator piston WITHOUT a guide pin. Is this normal or should I buy a pin? and If I need to buy a pin where should I go?

The Sonnax pinless accumulator piston is part # 77998-03K. I see it online for $11 but with $10 shipping. Maybe cheaper on ebay. A local trans shop can order it from their distributor and probably have it next day. (TranStar part #S74927K)
For the 3-4 accumulator I would say the pinless piston has no disadvantages at all and quite a few benefits especially if the bore is a bit worn (or the pin is lost).
I personally use it for the 3-4 but not the 1-2. I prefer the Transgo HD2 1-2 accumulator setup and that doesn't work with the pinless piston because there is both an upper and lower spring. The Transgo HD2 3-4 setup does work with the pinless piston because only the one spring is replaced.
If you decide to stick with the stock 3-4 piston, your local trans shop might have an extra pin or I could mail you one at no charge, but would need to know the pin size.
BTW - Be sure you are using aluminum pistons, not the plastic ones which crack!
