Diagnosing lack of power
Diagnosing lack of power On my Lq4/th350 swap the car has no codes, but the power is not there. The trans shifts fine but I was wondering if it could be slipping or failing since the engine itself has decent compression and idles fine with good oil pressure? I was under the impression that a slipping trans is denoted by a rise in rpm's without any increased movement.

Power comes from RPM. Maybe you want to look
more at shiftpoints and choice of converter. With
no overdrive maybe the converter is more of a
compromise. Maybe the trans was set up to shift
for what a SBC likes. I dunno.
Your 1st gear is also shallower than the 4L60 so
you maybe aren't feeling what you used to, out
the back.
