Arrow Yank SS4000..nitrous/gear???

Hey guys well the Yank SS4000 is an and HOLYSH!T this thing rides lol Unfortuantly i only have a 2.73 JUNK rear for the time being so the convertor is definatly on the loose side.. Ive been doing alottttttttt of searching/reading and it seems the 3.42/3.73 seem to be the best combination for a good street/track setup.. Only issue is im definatly planning on spraying the car with a NX 150.Ive seen some posts with people saying this convertor is too loose to spray?? is this true? Should i maybe look into a 3.23 gear instead because im affraid of having too much gear then spraying the car into overdrive through the traps???? Basically the car is a full bolt on street/strip car, STOCK longblock, WEEKEND warrior. Occasionly driven on the highway. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

its kind of dependent on what RPM you will be spinning the motor up to as well...

if you are going to 6800 rpm, a 3.50 gear would be fine
if you are only spinning 6200...somewhere in the 3.25 range will probably work

too loose is kind of a vague term...
how about see what it flashes to, and calculate the total slippage thru the RPM....
people use loose to say that the converter flashes too high...and its not really the right term for how loose it is...

is it 10% slip? or 40% slip......
cause honestly, I could care less what it flashes to if it multiplies the torque without too much slipping.

That converter is tight and is good for spray. I've never heard anyone say it's too loose for nitrous. Ever.

Run it with a 3.42 or 3.73. Not a huge difference.

again... totally dependent on how high you spin the engine...
spin it to a higher RPM, you need a lower number gear
dont spin it as high, and you can get a little higher number gear to keep you from shifting into 4th spraying giggle gas across the line.

my friend has a 99 formula firebird bolt on car with a ss4000, 2.73 gears and weight reduction. he runs 12.10's and 10.90's with a 150 shot. i have 3.73 gears and like the way it drives better, the converter feels tighter is the only difference.
