4L80E guys come on in
I don't have anyone around here to really help with my car. It would be nice. I just have to learn as I go. I want to do a cam swap and head porting but I just don't have the time. I've done all of my mods myself and to be honest, this tranny swap isn't a one person job if you want it done quickly and wired correctly. I have to wait until I get the hood before I paint anything.
But....my engine is clean and my n2o wiring is done well using oem connectors so they look like part of the wiring harness.
Everything is done. Pedals are in, cooler is in, lines are ran, shifter is in, shocks are in, weight reduction is done, wiring harness is done, pcm is retuned, shift kit is done. All that's left is putting the tranny in. The wiring harness was a piece of cake. Took 10 mins and it was ready.
Last question. Do I need to trim the "ears" of the tranny? I've read it both ways yes and no. I mean if it'll save time on the install I would rather cut the ears off while it's out than beat the **** out of the tranny tunnell.

Just take your time and use various tools- grinder, dremel, files, etc. Slow and steady wins the race if you want it to look good. Also, if you are using an inspection cover, try and retain the holes for that.

Pulled the carpet and removed the backing. There is a lot of backing!!
Cut some metal brackets that I don't need anymore.
Moved my n2o bottle and made some lightweight mounts. Which I think I might move it to the rear passenger seat pan when I get home.
I also found 3 Mexican coins under the factory installed carpet?????
In 3 different locations too. $5 Peso, $2 Peso and $1 Peso from 1998, 1999, 2000. LOL
Conversion rate $0.62 cents
Removed another 23lbs of weight. So at least it was productive.
