th400/th350 shifter mounting
th400/th350 shifter mounting Just wondering how you guys mounted your shifter, I have some ideas and what not but just wondering if you have any pics of how you did yours....
I used some thin aluminum to make a plate to cover the hole. I used some foam weather stripping with the stick on backing to help seal it up. I then used some long bolts facing up so the shifter would fit over them. To prop up the back of the shifter I threaded some nuts about 1/2 way down the back bolts to hold it up. I then bolted it down.

Yeah, since I was a 6 speed car previously, I went to my local industrial supply store and bought some leftover sheet steel. I just went as thick as I couldnt bend with my hands anymore, then I cut it out and did a little bit of BFH to form it to the 6 speed hole, and then I used a drill and rivets to securely fasten it to the floor. Then after that my shifter just mounted to that, and I was all done! The shifter wont move at all even if you bang on it, and it seals perfectly with a little RTV.
