Default 6l80

Hi all,
I bought a 2011 5.3 w/attached original 6L80 trans and installed into a 1986 chevy truck. I hooked the trans up to the column shifter via shiftworks shift link. I don't have the truck running yet but moving the column shifter he transfer feels loose switching from park to R to D etc. Also, I can't shift down to what would be M. Igot into my friends 2013 Silverado with same trans and it shifts like it should.

Anyone have experience with the 6l80 swapping into older vehicles that can give me some advice?

Thanks,

Ben

Need more information. What ECM OS are you using? The 'looser feel' is probably more related to the column shift mechanic than the transmission's.

I put a 2011 6 litre and a 2011 6L80 into my 41 Chev this spring. The 2011 trucks use the body control module to control the tap up/down switch when in manual mode. John at Speartech gave my TCM a Corvette tune along with his tap switch and the transmission shifts very nicely in manual mode.
