Default stupid ? B&M pan

so got a deep pan for my 4l60e took down filter and was ready to put new one and in the instructions say to put this filter retaining spring on this bolt but makes no sense lines up with nothing please help

for a 4l65e like our GTO's have you will have to use a filter for a older *** 4L60E: something like a '98 Z28 Camaro filter will do the trick. ALL aftermarket/deep trans pans are meant for a older 4L60 and not the newer 4L60 nor 4L65E trans that have a different setup that requires raised bosses to hold the filter in place. Just buy the older style filter and you should be good to go.

If you're lucky a truck filter kit will bottom against
the deep pan. Truck pan plus truck filter is the cheap
ticket for the Camaro / Bird.

Don't whack that deep pan on a speed bump or anything else. Never liked the idea on such a low car.....
