4l80e TCC won't unlock. Ideas? Hey guys,
I am trying to finish up a 370ci/4l80e swap in my dad's 87 Monte SS and I cant figure out why the TCC will not unlock when I come to a stop.
When I first start the car, it will go in reverse and drive and idle just fine but after I drive the car and the TCC locks up and then I come to a stoplight, it pushes on the brakes hard and most of the time it stalls unless I pop it up in neutral. With that said, if I leave it in park for a minute or two, it will go back to idling in gear like it is supposed to like the pressure leaks off or something

After reading that, I decided it would be a good idea to cut the TCC ground wire so I did. Negative results.
Also to back up for a minute, the brake switch is connected for the TCC. Anyone have any other ideas? Trans has HD2 kit installed with stock converter and TSP 228r cam in the motor.

found a fix for now. i disabled shift lock in the auto TCC tab on HPTuners. the 228r cam still pushes pretty good on the brakes with stock torque converter but its not shutting off at a stop light.
