4L80s & a manual control box
4L80s & a manual control box I have a Mustang with an 80 in it & I have the Rossler Little Black Box, everything worked fine on it, until last night. Made a few 2nd/3rd gear pulls unlocked, I slowed down & locked the converter, then the converter wouldn't unlock, the toggle switch was inop. I looked at the wiring & 1 wire was off of a terminal on the switch. I hooked it back up and nothing, still locked.
We ended up unhooking the lock up function from the box & when I moved the car the converter came unlocked.
Before we got it fixed I drove the car a few miles with it locked in all gears, did it probably tear something up? The trans/converter felt & performed normal after getting the converter unlocked & I drove it home, but now I'm wondering what the deal is. The fluid level is good, fluid looks & smells new.
Has anyone had this happen with these boxes?

4L80E FM box We run a lot of his boxes never had any issues with them run 12 V to red wire of course, and when you activate the brown wire the converter will lockup.
