Default lock up

cam someone school me on this subject? I'm trying to see what i need to do to have 4th, my lock up cylinoid is cut from the harness.i have another one but no harness! can i just wire it to a switched 12v and switch it on when I'm in 4th ? or will it burn up?

I'm sorry is a 93 700r4 in a93 Trans am i just rebuilt the Trans

BTW - a 4l60E internal harness with TCC solenoid is only $32:

I don't think it would burn up getting engaged, but you will have to switch it off as you slow down or the car will stall. It would be very unwieldy.
