Default 4L60 no second and no fourth

My 4L60 is skipping 2nd and has no 4th. Some one told me it my be the accumulator and servo. I have no Idea? Can anyone help me? Man I don't want to pull it out. The Trans only has 26000 miles on it. They said I should only be able to push the cover in a 1/16 to a 1/8. Mine will push in a 1/4, Could it be the orings or the shaft? Thank's Bodie

Sounds like a broken or extremely worn band IMO. With being able to push the cover in that far obviously you have a situation with to much travel of the servo assembly.

While Vince is absolutely correct, several members here were able to "patch" their servo and get more mileage out of their transmissions. You don't need to remove the trans to remove the servo, although on a Camaro you likely need to lower the rear of the trans a bit. Here are the threads:

(You can skip the OP's initial 1500-word long description.)

If you are not comfortable welding, a local trans shop might be able to do this for you. I learned this "trick" from a local trans shop mechanic.

Obviously this assumes the band is only worn; if it is broken you will need to remove and rebuild the trans.
