Swapping 4L60e to 4L80e Q: New to ls1s so my question is, is there any surprises as far as the swap.
I bought an almost freshly built 4L80E witha valve body job and ordered the harness from speartech. Any advice before I do this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Im on the same boat as you brother. So much reading
into this made my eyes tired. Wish they had a simple kit
to take care of it all. Any paticular reason youre going
with a speartech harness? I know frost makes a harness also.

i really didnt know another company made these harnesses, but Im still new to ls1s to I didnt really do a big search. This one was around $160ish if I recall, but they shipped it extremely fast. i wanna say withing a few hours of me ordering it. Ive been told that I'll have to have the car tuned regardless of any mods, something about the shifting. I was also told that if I order long tubes, not to order the ones with the tube that comes off of them for the 02 sensor or something. they said to order the off-road/race headers. something like that.........lol. otherwise i'll have to have those tubes cut off or bent because being the transmission is bigger than the 4L60E it fits tighter so those tubes will rub the tranny.
