98 Camaro torque converter bolt size
What's up guys...I'm getting ready to install my FLT stage 4 transmission and yank ss3600 converter....I pretty much have all the necessary parts needed but I am unsure of what size the bolt head is...
Some say it's an 8mm Allen head and others say its a torx T50+...just wondering if anyone knows for sure...remember it's a 98 white always seems to have oddball sizes and equipment...I already have Allen heads but if it is a t50+ I'm going to have to find one...last thing I want to do is mangle the bolt head and have unnecessary issues to hold me up...
On a side note do you guys use loctite (blue or red, probably blue) on the converter/flexplate bolts?
Thanks

on my 98,the original OEM bolts were 10mm x ? pitch socket head cap screw. when I went with a TCI 2800,the bolts were 11mm x ? pitch hex head. my current Yank SS3600 would not accept either of those as the convertors' mounting 'feet' were not drilled and tapped all the way thru the foot. I ended up using ARP 230-7304 I picked up in anticipation of encountering something different, they worked perfectly. Don't know which loctite my friend applied before he handed me the bolts. they were hex head and suprisingly short, but no problem yet after 2 1/4 years. I had to use .096" of hardened washers to attain proper spacing between flexplate and convertor.
the ARP bolts are M10 x 1.50 pitch x .590" length.

I've heard if people having to shim the converter as you mention, but where did you get washers that were all the exact same thickness? I haven't mic'd the ones at the hardware store. I've seen a video of a transmission shop using actual solid spacers rather than stacking washers...
