4L80 running hot
trans runs about 205 to 225.
Notice that on highway temps go up slowly until 215 to 225.
Then getting off highway and going threw town trans drop back down 205 to 210.
At first trans cooler lines was plumb radiator then cooler then trans.
Change to just cooler (bypass radiator) and no change.
Cooler is small 8''x12'' or 12''x12'' mounted in front of radiator behind grille. Not sure what brand.
on highway i can shift up to over drive and rpms go down as if going in higher gear like it suppose to. also from drive to 3rd rpms go up as if going down in gear like it suppose to. I can't feel any slipping.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I thought about looking into trans pan has the fins to try to cool down. I also considering going to a dual cooler set up or 1 big cooler.
I would like to change the aluminum lines to like a stainless steel braded line (don't know if that would help cool it but it sure would look good.

i hear everyone using b&m or trucool or supercool 40K.
I haven't ordered yet hoping that more members would chime in.
Do i need to drain all the tranny fluid out? NO idea what kind of fluid is in there. can i just add any trans fluid to it if needed?
thanks

Go with the 40K cooler. You can find them for around $140, and there is a guy on pt.net that sells brackets for an easy install.
I read some where if I tap brake rpms should briefly go up because trans is in lock up. Is this true. I will do some more research but what are some good road rest I can do to diagnose problem little better.
Thanks for the replies
works great 175 on highway.
165 in town
Took alot longer for trans to get warm. Even at wot i didn't see over 185. Plumb through cooler only.
thanks for all your tips and advice.
I plan on next having some ss braded lines installed.
The brackets from time 2 kill made this install a breeze.
