Pre-97 4L80E Question...
I picked up a 4L80E trans out of a 1995 chevy Van, that came with the stock torque converter. I want to bolt it up to a '07 L92 that has the stock flexplate from the pervious 6L80E application.
Will I need an adapter to make the converter bolt to the flexplate from what I have or do I need to buy an adapter?
Thanks!

1997 isn't an important year for what you are looking to do. 1991-up will "bolt on" (some with 1 missing bolt) I have never heard of anyone using a 6l80 flexplate with a 4l80 which is why I don't think you are getting a response. I know the converters are different between the 6L and 4L but don't know how. If you run the 4l80 with a stock converter then you will also need to run the spacer that gm put in the later lq4's so the snout of the converter will have something to center on and use a 80e flywheel. IF the flywheels are the same you will still need to use the spacer with the stock converter. If you get an aftermarket converter they can change the snout so you would not need a spacer.
I would think so. Be sure that everything slides together nice and don't draw the bellhousing to the block using the bolts, it should all slide together, and after it is together you should be able to have space between the flexplate and converter bosses
