Default 4l60e truck year into fbody?

Hey guys,

I searched and couldnt find much on the subject, Im needing a quick replacement since I cant find any used 98-02 fbody transmission FS, & well the local junkyards have quite a few 99-2004 4L60e's from trucks at a good price. I know very little about when it comes to transmissions.

What year truck's 4l60e can I reuse to swap into my 99 camaro z28??
What other things will I need to swap over frm my core to the trucks 4l60e?

Any help would be awesome,

Thanks!

Any '98 through '05 4L60E from any 2WD LS engine truck will fit your '99 Z28. You may have to change the tail housing, which is trivial. The bell housing should have a bolt hole in the 12 O'Clock position to indicate it has a 300mm input shaft for LS engines.
(Note 4WD units have a different output shaft which is not trivial to change.)

In such a swap, many people will use the Vette servo ($15 part) because the Camaro also came with the Vette servo. However when GM uses the Vette servo they also drill the separator plate a bit differently (slightly larger 2nd and 3rd feed holes?). Therefore unless you are going to make that change too, you might be better off with the stock servo in the trans.

Cool, thanks for the reply I found a 99 4l60e but the truck it came off from had a Vortec 350, I'm kind of spectacle if it'll still work with my ls1..?

I don't see a bolt hole in the 12 O'Clock position, so it probably has a 298mm input shaft which will not bolt up directly.

These threads and my pictures might help explain it:
