1995 4l60e not shifting after hard launch?
Hey there guys I've been a long time lurker and have found great info here but this has me stumped.....I just did a swap with 1994 caprice lt1 into 1994 s10 and my trans goes into 3rs gear starts after a nice manual 1st gear burnout, recently I noticed it will do the same with slicks and a holes hot with slicks, here's what's done to the package. 1994 4l60e with 13 vane pump, corvette 1-2 servo, metal servos throughout, hardened shell, Kevlar band, drilled valve body rebestos high performance clutches, 2800 stall converter with lockup, if I drive normally it will shift on time everytime but if I do a good burnout in manual first it will go into a 3rd gear start until I shut it off and restart. I put slicks on it tonight and lauched it in drive,it went 1-2 real nice then went into 3rd early and stayed there until I shut it off and back back on again. I do have tuner cat and set the shift points up a bit and also raised the mph where 2nd defaults when in manual low but I'm still stumped here???

A 3rd gear start means it is it "limp" mode.
Scan for codes to find the problem.
Was the PCM tuned for the higher stall?
Likely the PCM thinks there is too much slippage between the engine and the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and therefore enters limp mode.
One part of "tuning for a stall" is reducing the slippage sensitivity.
