I "inherited" a project from a friend. He had purchased a complete TH400/converter setup from FTI to go behind a SBF setup. I am now going to use the setup for a LS combo. My question is, what flex plate/spacer sect do I need to make this work?

Does the converter have SBF bolt pattern or Chevy pattern?

 

I would call Greg @ FTI, prob your best bet if they built it, and he will get you fixed up

 

Evo, The converter should have a Gm bolt circle on it. You will need a flex plate for the ls motor to th350-400 and you will need the pilot extender which I have in stock. I also have the LS ultrabell in stock as well. The SBF bell and flex plates are valuable right now as the manufacturer have none in stock and you should be able to sell it pretty quick

Thanks for your response. I laid the flex plate from my 5.3 over the pads of the torque converter and all the holes were about 3/8" off with the flex plate being larger than the converter. I talked to someone (can't remember the name) at FTI and he informed me that two holes should line up, and one would have to be notched. This is a budget build and would like to use my existing LS flywheel if possible. I already have the pilot extender.

 

I used the GM spacer installed behind the flexplate and simply elongated the stock holes in the flexplate to match up to my th400 converter.
