Default 02 4L60E tailshaft housing *Emergency*

Hey guys I have a 2 part question. 1st part is how hard is it to replace a tailshaft for an 02 4L60E in the driveway. The 2nd part is where can I locate a torque arm ls1 tailshaft? Im having a hell of a time finding one.

It's kind of an emergency since the car is my dd and I don't want to miss work for any extended time. Any help would be appreciated. I'm in the Raleigh, NC area if that helps any.

I found a couple 6 bolt torque arm tail housings but they specify 4 cylinder, so I'm assuming they're different than an ls1 tailshaft.

They came on s10s I believe and they "should" work. That's why they are listed as 4 cyl tailshafts. Otherwise it has to be from an f car and that's why the price of them is high and they can be difficult to find. They are fairly easy to replace, need to drop the driveshaft, support the trans, then drop the trans crossmember. 6 bolts and it comes off, be mindful of the big o ring that seals it. The long term alternative to this is a crossmember relocation from BMR then you can move to a full size truck tailshaft (i.e. no torque arm provision). That's the setup I'm running and like it, and tailshafts are cheap and abundant.

If you look at this add, the seller says it is found in trucks and Camaros.
