2000 trans am trans problem I have a 00 trans am and the car will not start in 1st gear or go into passing gear it will manually shift 1st to d. Today I replaced both shift solenoids a and b but it did not fix anything

Sounds like the trans is in "limp" mode which is 3rd gear.
As poltergeist_o2 askes, a high stall converter can put the trans into limp mode until it is tuned.
