Drive shaft length
Are you planning to order a custom length drive shaft?
If yes, select the company and they will tell you exactly what to measure.
I originally had a local company make a driveshaft for me; they are hundreds of local driveshaft companies in the US servicing trucks. I was very happy with my company (Ann Arbor Drive Shafts), wowever there have been some posts here about locally made driveshafts not being well balanced and even failing at high RPM.
I just had a custom aluminum driveshaft made; see www.shaftmasters.com.
The aluminum one was $375; they said a steel one with 1330 yoke and u-joints is about $250.

mrvedit I'm having one built by Inland truck parts they specialized in drive lines and they balance them at high speeds had one made for my 6 speed it was great, but I was wondering what the measurements are for the auto 4l80e with 1350 u joints.
The typical measurement is from the rear seal of the trans to the middle of the u-joint on the pinion yoke. I got under my car and called the shop on my cell phone and they told me exactly what to measure.
