Default Trans & gears?

Sup guys, I am helping a good friend of mine get his 2000 LS1 SS running good. It is 100% stock A4 3.23 gears. We just ordered some 1 7/8s, true duals, Lid, and a pulley for it. And I know our weak link is the 4L60E. Since we have a 3.23 gear my question is if I put a 275/50/15 tire (26") will that give me any type of gear back? It runs a 295/35/19 (27").

Sorry if I'm typing too much info lol The car is a weekend hot rod we wanna start with bolt-ons 1st but also gears and converter. What gear would be a good gear for a highway driveable car? We have our mind set on a circle-D 4000 triple disk but we are not 100% sure what transmission to run? A built 4L60/65/70E or do a 4L80E. Main goal is to make 650rwhp with nitrous down the road and maybe 400-450rwhp N/A.

Any tips/ideas please share them with me. Thanks in advance.

The 26" tire is the stock height so I would go with that. My car has a 3600 stall and 3.73s and highway driving isn't too bad to, but the rpm increase is noticeable from when I had 3.23s. Id call one of the big transmission sponsors and see what they say about which transmission would be best to run.
