Default Questions before Converter install

All right guys, I finally freed up some time to do a converter install this Saturday and I got some questions.
The install is pretty straight forward to me, Ill be installing a Yank SS 3600 Converted and their Flex plate with a trans cooler.
I plan on dropping the pan and changing the filter and putting fresh fluid in.
My questions is what kind of fluid I should put in with my car having 110k miles?
The Trans doesn't miss a beat, It shifts great at WOT, and normal driving. The down shifts are also perfect.
The fluid from what I can tell on the dipstick just looks a little dirty but doesn't really smell burnt.
Should I go with dex III, Dex VI? Synthetic, conventional, blend?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd stick with Dex VI personally. I know people use III though.

Thats what I was thinking. We sell Valvoline Dex VI at my work and its full synthetic, wasn't sure if I should run synthetic or go with the castrol Dex VI and run a blend?

Also I got my car Street tuned at speed inc and they said they turned off torque management but would there be anything else that needs adjustment?

I run 3 personally but don't have a solid reason why. Reluctant to change I guess. You shifts are gonna get soggy as hell with the converter and so will lockup. Typically you raise line pressure to firm shifts and set minimum pwm in the tune to 95 so the converter locks and stays locked. None of that factory slipping bullshit. Get some good graded washers ahead of time because you will probably need to shim the converter feet.

+1 on the shims. Just use what the factory calls for in ATF. The tune (shift times/pressures) and rpm limit of 6000 is what will keep that stock 4l60 living.

Thanks for the information guys.
I tried emailing speed inc today, hopefully they get back to me soon.
When they tuned my car before I felt like the trans was shifting a little harder, but maybe it was just me imagining it.
Will the car be OK to drive without a tune for a bit?

Yeah just don't be stomping on the gas and expecting it to behave properly/as expected.
