Default Need a part for a 4L60E

I have a 1995 Chevy Tahoe 2wd. My hubby and I are rebuilding the tranny out of it and we had ordered all the parts we needed from www.notasponsor.com but the last peice we need thy didn't have. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a reaction carrier shaft from. I tried the local transimission shop in town no luck.

i would do some searching around on the internet for your specific year model vehicle. I'm not sure if any of our sponsors to the right------------->
would carry what you are looking for, but you could always call them anyways, if they don't have what you are looking for maybe they can at least point you in the right direction.

We bought the stronger sun shell called the beast. It was just the shell by itself.

i've seen them and i don't think theirs is any stronger than the gm updated model in the picture. in fact, the gm updated model comes with the shaft that now rides on torrington bearings to lower friction and wear points along with getting rid of the holes in the shell near the splined part which is a common place for it to crack (in a somewhat circle between the 4 holes). between the upgraded reaction carrier shaft and the much improved sun shell i chose the gm one over the beast. at the same time i also replaced the reaction carrier since that was what i broke. i went with a new gm unit built for the 4L65E which is machined steel instead of cast iron. here's a picture of that.

here the old one is broken.....

question on the reaction carrier shaft. Is it supposed to have five notches in it?? The local tranny shop said that it was broken and the used one we got today looks just the old one with the notches.

the rear planetary is what blew apart on us too must be a common problem with the 4L60Es.

The steel 5 planetary gear got my hubby all worked up!

yeah, the notches are supposed to be there. here's a closer picture of one from the kit. just took it out of the box, kinda shiny.
