One good way to contact him is to fax him.

Reality is that if you want a custom converter you have to just get a hold of him. If you know what you want, you can fax him an order or leave a detailed message with the best time and place to call you.
John, I appreciate the time you put in answering questions on this board and your willingness to help others having problems. I really mean this, I have followed this board and LS1.com before for a long time, and you are one of a few that many people trust and look to for advice. You have blown up and / or broken more sh*t that the rest of us could ever hope to install... LOL It is obvious your knowledge comes from the school of hard nocks rather than reading it in some magazine...

All that said, I am hoping that you can talk some sense into Mike at Yank.
He seems to take your calls and listen to you. Keep in mind that I have never bought anything from Yank and never dealt with Mike. My somewhat of a rant came out of my frustration of just reading hundreds of posts. This is how potential customers research a company before doing business with them. There are people that would never buy anything from Yank based on their reputation. It does not have to be this way. There are several vendors that stand out as having excellent products / customer service. Two that come to mind are Thunder Racing and MTI (I'm sure there are many others). I have bought stuff from Thunder, but not MTI, yet I would have no problem buying THOUSANDS of dollars worth of stuff from MTI (heads, cam, etc.) based on their reputation. They make excellent products as well as support them. I would have no doubt that if a problem arose, they would take care of it. I can't say the same for Yank...

You dismiss JNorris as the resident Yank hater FYI. I don't know JNorris or know his situation, but I don't know any resident MTI haters or Thunder Racing haters... I wonder why...

You are trying do defend Mike but your defense falls short.

Uhmm... There is a classic small business solution! HIRE SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE PHONES! Everyone doesn't have to speak to Mike personally, they just want to be able to talk to someone in the know. Mike is selling a lot of $900+ converters yet he can't afford to hire anyone to answer the phone / emails???

With his moving of his manufacturing to Nevada, he will also be adding phone support.

It's about time! This is a novel concept that many sucessful companies figured out years ago!!! Please keep us posted on when this phone support is in place.

One good way to contact him is to fax him. Well that's all fine and dandy ! Faxes were cool in the 80's , but there's this thing called the internet and email that many people seem quite fond of!, and actual phone calls have been around for even longer...

Reality is that if you want a custom converter you have to just get a hold of him I have no problem with the custom converter stuff... If you have a need for some custom converter - you probably need to talk to Mike. However, for standard off the shelf stuff (90% of buyers) you shouldn't have to wait weeks until you can talk to His Royalness MIKE!!!

Again, I am in no way trying to bash you at all, quite the opposite. I just wish you could talk some sense into Mike @ Yank.

I don't understand why they don't just hire someone for minimum wage to answer the phone. It says a lot that they don't.

What happens is that everyone wants to go over their combo in great detail on the phone, and the phone gal ends up giving the phone to Mike. I told Mike that I think he needed to specify specific phone hours, like just after 2pm or something, and he needed to offer less converters and thin out the lineup. When he and I are on the phone his phone will ring about 15 times.

He said that with the move he will end up hiring some new guys who have prior related experience.

I couldn't agree more with what you have said.
There are hundreds of thousands of people in the same area Yank is located and to think not one of them could handle the job makes me sick. America cant be thet steepuid. HAHA

Just one of the many where you can see Yanks C/S.
I am probally the biggest Yank product fan and the least favorite C/S fan.
Honestly I HATE loosing more than anything else and this is why I continue to buy from yank.

BTW Mike if you ever get on the board and read this shoot me a PM. If you need someone to answer phones who is knowledgeable and can talk to customers I can help.
You could foward all your calls to me and your phone will stop ringing completly except for at the end of the day when I call you for 30-45 minutes and give you all the orders and updates.
Of course a small fee will be needed, but for the awsome C/S I will provide my costs will go unnoticed.

And I bet you're not the only one who would help. There are lots of people who love cars and talking about car stuff such that he doesn't have to hire a know-nothing if he doesn't want to. There are a few ways for him to resolve this situation.

LOL, I wouldn't hire you Put it on paper or fill in a form on the computer he can also bring up instead of calling him (think he'll pick up) with orders. Yeah, too bad Mike's place isn't around here, i would love to help out.

And why not?
You dont even know me.
I did this service for woofersetc 4 years ago. There sales went up 72% in 1 year. Because of me? No. Because of better C/S? Yes.
Not that it really matters because I wouldn't want to work for you anyways.
HAHA How in the hell would I know this? I dont know you.
Exactly. See how dumb the statement sounds?
