Default ST3500 vs. PT4200

Getting ready to rid myself of my VIG3600. Ive been looking at the PT4200 from yank which I know is an animal, but for $950 im not sure. I also have a chance to buy a buddies tried and true ST3500 for what I get for my VIG3600 multi disc, Im thinking $400. I know of a few people who have been in the 10s with H/C and the ST3500. I was wanting some opinions and info from those who know. Keep in mind the dollar differance. Ill also send the ST3500 back to Yank for a refresh and maybe an upgrade to a bigger size. Thanks.

You will not gain anything by switching to the ST 3500. The step up for you is the YTP 4200. Keep what you have or go the 4200.

The 4200 will be the most gain as to ET and MPH. It depends on your budget and your goal. I myself have the 4200. This works best with a taller gear such as 3:73's and above. This is a loose convertor for the street, but I live with it because of benefits at the track. For driving in town, you can drive in 3 gear to help some with the looseness of the convertor. Cheers and good discretion with your decision.

The PT4200 will cost $1000 and the ST3500 will cost me whatever Yank charges for a freshen up and a restall to ST4000 and I figure that would be close to a PT4000 or PT4200. These STs were hard hitters and pretty efficent from what ive seen and researched, look at TXCAMSS ride: ST3500 and 3.23s = 10.90s My car is a daily driver but when I hit the strip I want killer e.t. and mph and Im not geeting that with the VIG3600.

Yeah, but TXCAMSS only went 2 10.90's i beleive and that was in perfect air at HRP. We have went through 2 vigi converters(3200, 3600), then went to TCS (4200) twice, first one didnt perform, and finally stepped up to the YTP4400. IF you are into as much track performance as it sounds, make the step up and go with it. With all the costs involved its quite a bit cheaper to do it right the first time.

By the way, we have been running 10.90s in 70% humidity and 80+ degree weather at 3370lbs. When we can get some of that ideal air here, the times will drop even lower.

I drive mine everyday and I rode in yours. The verter is the one Joey has and we know how it ran before his tranny started dying. Ill take that ST3500 and move it to ST4000 which is more than enough, maybe spend a little extra and take to the PT4200. Im doing more **** in the suspension so dont spend the summer laying around. Im selling my SFCs if your interested, Peace
