4L80E swap experince come inside
I am trying to basically get a list together of parts and hear you guys experiences with a 4L80E swaps. I would like to know how difficult things were and how much your final cost for the swap was.
Unfortunately I am a LT1 guy with a T56, so I dont see or hear too many people doing these swaps anymore. So any input would be much appreciated!

BMR Transmission Conversion Crossmember, 4L80E, LT1 (TCC008)

Unfortunately their isn't enough room to do a torque arm relocation crossmember for a 4L80E in a LT1 car so nobody builds one. This means that if you are planning on doing this swap you will want to plan on using a shorter style torque arm that either mounts to the chassis or the tunnel of the vehicle.
If there is any way we can help you out just let me know.

-4L80e converter with a custom front face to bolt to said 153 tooth flexplate
-Quality flexplate to crank and converter to flexplate bolts, I like ARP
-Some sort of trans cross member for the 4L80E (I have read a M6 cross member can work?)
-Relay mod to have the trans shift and what not off of the LT1 PCM
-Big *** trans cooler and lines
-New DS yoke for trans output
-Built 4L80e, obviously
-Center console from a 60e car and then all the required linkages
-Elongate the bracket mounting holes on shifter cable end at transmission for 80e
Otherwise, not much to crazy, you will need to trim the ears off the trans up front but thats it.

I can get free 4L80E and TH400 from a company that work on box trucks. And since my father in law build race trans and all other type of trans the build labor is free. His good friend here in St. Louis has built converters for over 40 years and I can get a billet triple clutch converter for $375 because thats where he gets his converters from. So hopefully at the end of the day it wont be overly expensive or over $800 total for me. Fingers crossed!
